About
I, Julie Wakeman-Linn, have escaped to Africa for about 18 months. I will miss editing the Potomac Review and teaching at MC, but I’ll be writing instead. Last spring rush of 4 stories accepted has done two things: first I have nothing ready to send out, and second, I realize how much I love the writing life.
Goals for 2011-2012
1. finish the second novel, “The Thief, the Housekeeper and The young ex-pat Wife”
2. draft the Praire novel
3. finish several stories that were hiding in my files and maybe pull together the short story collection.
4. play with experimental fiction as well.
5. enjoy a change of pace and focus my energies on creativity through writing and terrible watercolors and sketching.

Hi Julie. ( I tried to write a comment directly on facebook, which I am now finally on, re your photo of you with your daughter, but it didn’t seem to take. So if you’ve gotten this message before, , please excuse the repetition.) –First, great congratulations on your book! I can’t wait to read it. Second, I was shocked to hear of your daughter’s being hit by a car. That must have been very frightening days and weeks for you and her. I’m so pleased she is recovering well. And last, I have bookmarked http://www.gecko etc. so I can find you! wishing you all best. Jessie
